Venezuela president Hugo Chavez, along with the country of Ecuador, have sent thousands of troops to the Colombian border. The reason? Columbia's military, on the pursuit of FARC rebels, crossed the Ecuador border to attack the FARC guerrillas. President Bush has voiced his support for Columbia and has encouraged Congress to pass a free trade agreement with Colombia. Is Bush right in backing Colombia? Is Hugo Chavez wrong for sending troops to the border of Colombia?

I personally think Hugo Chavez is a nut case. He accuses Bush of being a murderous villain (I think he has even called him the devil), yet he is giving funds to a rebel group that kidnaps and murders innocent Colombians. He has so much hate for America and democracy, it's a bit scary. I wouldn't be surprised if later in his lifetime he does something to really harm America.
But, if we are nice to him him might repay the favor.
